Co-Op Community Fund
We would like to update our kitchen to semi-professional standard, to increase our capacity for outreach to the local community, providing freshly cooked meals and a safe space for all.About this cause
Cosy Cafe and Tiny Club are groups hosted by St. Mary's Church Centre and run by volunteers on a weekly basis. Both groups aim to provide a space which promotes friendship and combats loneliness as well as supporting households who are struggling as a result of the ongoing cost of living crisis. There is no charge for either group. Our overall aim is to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere where friendships can be made and fostered. Cosy Cafe embraces older members of our community who can feel isolated and suffer from poor mental health, whilst providing a healthy, home-cooked lunch. Tiny Club caters for toddlers and their carers with a range of themed educational activities and healthy snacks. All are welcome regardless of gender, marital status, or religious denomination.
How this cause brings people in the community together
Cosy Cafe and Tiny Club are groups that meet weekly at St. Mary's Church Centre in Albrighton. Due to the increased numbers of people attending, we have outgrown the domestic kitchen which was originally installed in 2006. An updated, semi-professional kitchen would enable Cosy Cafe and Tiny Club to better serve the needs of those who attend. Both groups seek to build relationships across the community. They provide a safe inclusive space for people to meet and make friends, including local foodbank clients. They help to ease loneliness and isolation, improving mental health whilst providing healthy, nutritious snacks or freshly cooked food free of charge. All are welcome.
